Newcastle City Council has about 1,000 employees.
There is a range of skills and much knowledge about providing the Council services to our community.
But Newcastle Council does not have a Workforce Strategy, to ensure (among other things) that this 'corporate knowledge' is not lost when people leave.
After months of trying to find out the age profile of Council's workforce, the information has finally been forthcoming.
You'll see from the graph that Council could lose over 100 staff in the next 5 years.
The administration needs to develop and publish a proper Workforce Strategy.
